Painting — real jobs

Work in Sacramento homes.

Whole interiors, exteriors, and everything smaller. Bedrooms, hallways, ceilings after a drywall repair, kitchen cabinets, trim and doors, siding, fascia and stucco — inside and out, prepped properly and cut in by hand where it shows.

Small job? That is fine too. Painting companies are built around whole-house work, so call them about one bedroom or a patched hallway and you get either a no or a price that assumes a crew and a truck. I will take either end of that.

Prep is the job. Filling, sanding, caulking, masking and priming take about seventy percent of the time. What you see at the end is the last step, and it only looks good because of everything underneath it.

Interior

  • Single rooms and accent walls
  • Ceilings, including after a drywall repair
  • Doors, frames, trim and baseboards
  • Touch-ups after a repair, a move-out or a tenant turnover
  • Cabinets and built-ins where the finish is worth saving

Exterior

  • Trim, fascia and eaves — usually the first thing to fail in Sacramento sun
  • Doors, shutters and garage doors
  • Stucco patch-and-paint after a repair
  • Fences and gates, stain or paint

What I use and why it matters

Price always affects quality. Any job can be done better — straighter, cleaner, more detailed. But that takes time, and time costs money. I would rather tell you that plainly than pretend the cheapest version is the same job.

I don't cut prep to hit a number. If a wall needs priming, it gets primed, or the paint will fail and we'll both be looking at it in a year.

Questions

Straight answers

Will you do just one room?
Yes. That's specifically the kind of job I take.
Do you supply the paint?
I can, or you can. If you pick it, tell me the brand and sheen and I'll tell you whether it suits the surface.
Can you paint after a drywall repair?
Yes, and it is usually better done as one job. The patch has to be primed properly or it will flash through the topcoat.
